Our Researchers Meet with Officials from the Mexican State of Campeche

Our researchers, Dr. Margaret A. Pericak-Vance, Director of the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG), Dr. Jeffery Vance, Director of the Center for Genomic Education and Outreach for the HIHG, and Dr. Jacob McCauley, newly appointed Director of the Center for Genome Technology in the HIHG, met with officials from the Office of the Secretary of Health of the Mexican State of Campeche.

This meeting occurred after the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine signed a memorandum of understanding with a delegation from Mexico representing the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche and INDESALUD (the Instituto de Servicios Descentralizados de Salud Publica del Estado de Campeche).

The meeting focused on their interest in collaborating with HIHG researchers, learning about cutting edge genomic technologies to create new infrastructure, and medical education programs in human genomics. The HIHG looks forward to collaborating with the Mexican State of Campeche and hopes to foster new projects with them in the future.
